SREDNI KOLIBI is a village in the Balkan Mountains of central Bulgaria.
The name could be translated as 'Mid Hamlets' and it serves as a centre for outlying villages with its post office, shop, church, village hall and mayor's office. It is about 14 kilometers from the town of Elena and is close to Yovkovtsi Lake, a large water supply reservoir popular with anglers.
The local village records go back to the 16th century but it would seem that the surrounding area was occupied in Roman times.
The last three to four years have seen a number of changes with houses being renovated, a new hotel under construction and a guest house recently opened.
